What are Action Words?
Words that show an action or tell us what a person, animal, or thing is doing are called **Action Words** or **Verbs**.
### Examples:
* Run
* Walk
* Jump
* Eat
* Drink
* Read
* Write
* Sing
* Dance
* Play
## What is a Verb?
A **Verb** is a doing word. It tells us about an action.
### Examples:
* Rahul **runs** fast.
* I **eat** an apple.
* Birds **fly** in the sky.
* We **play** football.
* She **writes** neatly.
In these sentences, the highlighted words are verbs.
